The CU1521-0000 is an EtherCAT media converter developed by Beckhoff. It converts signals between copper Ethernet cables and multimode fiber optics. Unlike standard media converters, it can be diagnosed as an EtherCAT device and offers fast link control. Configuration is done via a rotary switch, including the “Link Loss Forwarding” function for standard Ethernet operation.
